France to supply Ukraine with about 50 air bombs monthly

This information was reported by the French newspaper Le Figaro, citing the words of the French Minister of Defense Sébastien Lecornu.

According to the publication, during an interview for France Inter radio, the minister stated that starting from January 2024, France would provide Ukraine with about 50 air bombs, and the deliveries would continue at least until the end of the year.

Lecornu mentioned that France would increase the supply of artillery ammunition to 3,000 shells per month.

“From February 2022 to the end of 2023, France supplied Ukraine with 2,000 shells per month, and from January [2024], it will be 3,000 shells per month”, the minister said.

He also commented on the situation on the front lines, denying that the Russians had taken the initiative and added that Moscow would not win the war against Ukraine.

In the interview, Lecornu emphasized that the successes of the Russian army are limited to “two kilometers, bitten here and taken back”.

“The counteroffensive did not work as we wanted, but this does not give an advantage to Putin”, he stressed.

The French Minister of Defense praised the courage of Ukrainians in the war.

Recall that the chief editor of Defense Express, Oleg Katkov, reported that France would transfer several hundred AASM-15 air bombs to Ukraine. The AASM-15 air bombs have high precision and can be used to target specific objectives, such as artillery batteries, command centers, and ammunition depots. Their range is up to 60 kilometers.
