In the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is occupied by Russians, a blackout occurred

This was caused by the actions of Russian occupiers, as reported by the Ukrainian company “Energoatom.”

It is noted that there was a power outage at the sixth power unit of the ZNPP. Diesel generators and safety systems were activated, and they operated for 90 minutes.

During this time, the occupational leadership of the seized ZNPP identified the reasons for the blackout and decided what to do with the consequences caused by their incompetent actions.

Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who are present at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, confirm the partial blackout.

“Due to the complete unprofessionalism of the Russian occupiers at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, there is a constant degradation of the main equipment and an increase in dangerous incidents of its failure”, emphasize Ukrainian energy experts.

What is known about the situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant:

• In July, Russia transferred the fourth power unit of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant to the “hot shutdown” state. This is a gross violation of operational requirements.
• It was also reported that an incident with a water leak from the first circuit to the second occurred on the 4th power unit of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. As a result of putting the 4th power unit of the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant into a “hot” state, there was an incident with a water leak from the first circuit of the reactor to the second. There was no radiological release into the environment.
• In August, it was revealed that the Russians had kidnapped the shift supervisor of the turbine department of the operations unit, Serhiy Spartesnyi. “Energoatom” reported that armed Russian military personnel came to his home, took him to the local occupational police department.
• On September 19, it became known that occupiers set up a torture chamber for employees at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. Since the occupation of Energodar and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Russian occupation forces have been conducting a systematic campaign of abductions, torture, and killings of station employees.
• On September 27, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, stated that Russian occupiers could create conditions that would lead to a nuclear incident after the liberation of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. According to Halushchenko, the situation around the occupied nuclear power plant is quite tense and poses a potential threat to nuclear safety not only for Ukraine but also for the entire European continent.
