In Ukraine, the serial production of analogs of “Shahed” drones has commenced

This was reported by the Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamishin, during the annual meeting of the European Business Association, as reported by Forbes Ukraine.

“Starting with what we call the ‘Ukrainian Shahed’, we do not disclose the name of this product, but we have entered into serial production, and now we produce dozens per month, continuing with many other positions that we used to produce very little of, and now we have decent figures”, he said.

Kamishin noted that the defense industry in Ukraine is making a significant contribution to the country’s economic growth. In the future, it is expected to become the country’s main sector. He added that the government is not always satisfied with just a multiple increase in production; they aim to increase production tenfold or more. The minister also mentioned that such growth is currently observed in many directions.

The minister clarified that this does not involve integrating businesses with “Ukroboronprom”. State-owned plants are working, and investors are developing the private sector. Currently, many drone companies see the potential for development in state structures and factories, as this allows them to access resources that are otherwise impossible to obtain independently.

“In this regard, the ‘Ukrainian Shahed’ appeared precisely at a state-owned plant,” the minister emphasized.

It’s worth noting that on July 26, the government allocated 40 billion hryvnias for the production of Ukrainian drones.
