KyivPride will represent Ukraine at the Malmö Pride festival in Sweden. Project Assistant Edward Rees will not only be speaking on the Pride main stage but will also host three events to remind about the war in Ukraine and draw attention to the life of LGBT+ people after the ‘full-scale’ invasion.
KyivPride will hold the following events:
July 8 at 15:00 “Trans Health in Ukraine: Do we need a European dream?”. Here they will compare the situation with transgender health in Ukraine and in Sweden, exchange experience and look for ways to solve problems.
July 8 at 16:00 “How do international media speak about the war in Ukraine? “. Here they will talk about how the international media show the situation with LGBT+ people in Ukraine during the war.
July 10 at 12:30 “LGBTQ+ people in Ukraine now: warriors, volunteers, victims.” Edward will be joined online by KyivPride director Lenny Emson to talk about how LGBT+ people in Ukraine live, work, and fight today.
Malmö Pride will provide SEK 30,000 with in support of KyivPride.
