This was announced by the company’s president, Oleksandr Komarov, during a telethon.
Home internet and voice communication have already been fully restored, and the restoration of mobile internet will begin with the western regions of Ukraine. Komarov noted that the level of uncertainty regarding the full restoration of the company’s functions is “off the scale” due to the scale of the attack, which he referred to as the largest in history. Priority services are expected to be restored by the end of the week, but additional protection to prevent further attacks will require additional time.
On December 12, subscribers of “Kyivstar” experienced disruptions in communication, and the company confirmed information about a powerful hacker attack. The company assured that the personal data of subscribers remained untouched.
On December 13, the Russian hacker group “SolncePek” claimed responsibility for the attack, explaining their actions as support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces by “Kyivstar”.
