This statement was made by the representative of the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, during a telethon broadcast.
“Yes, indeed, good news. Everyone is delighted. The fact that ‘cotton’ (explosions) is happening in Moscow, directly targeting the key security and defense facilities of the terrorist state, means that even such objects and the airspace above them are not under Putin’s regime control”, he said.
Furthermore, he noted that the Main Intelligence Department is simultaneously observing numerous ‘cotton’ operations in various corners of temporarily occupied territories.
“This process will continue and gain momentum until the Russian invaders withdraw from Ukrainian territories and justice is restored within the framework of international law”, Yusov added.
As a reminder, on the night of July 24th, drones attacked Moscow, hitting the objects of Russia’s defense ministry.
Additionally, there were explosions in the ammunition depot in Crimea. The occupying authorities announced the evacuation within a 5 km radius of the explosion site.
Russian propagandists use the word “hlopok” (clap) instead of “explosion” to downplay the significance of such events, a word which also means cotton. This has led to the creation of a meme during the Russian-Ukrainian war – the cotton means explosion.
