PM Shmyhal: Ukraine expects to counter $38B budget deficit with support from partners

“The budget deficit is generally known: $38 billion for next year. In fact, today we have political promises and already approved 17 billion euros from the European Commission, from the European Union. We also have pledges from the United States of America in the amount of 9.8 billion dollars. We also work with the IMF, with which we already have a monitoring program. And no later than the first quarter, we hope to receive a large financial program, which will also be a significant financial support for Ukraine, which will allow us to completely counter the entire budget deficit in 2023,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at a joint briefing with Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilița.
