This was shared by reserve colonel and military expert Roman Svitan on the “Kyiv” TV channel.
“This is a political decision, and the financial issue is simply used as a cover. For Americans, an F-16 jet costs about 10 million dollars. We need 200 planes, that’s the maximum number I’m talking about right now. 200 planes at 10 million dollars each is 2 billion dollars. These are the amounts that we receive almost every week”, he said.
According to the military expert, the refusal to transfer F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine may be politically motivated.
“This decision may be based on some agreements that were made last year… there are many such “booby traps” that we are not aware of… we cannot predict without insider information”, said Svitan.
He also noted that our country has already fulfilled all the necessary conditions for receiving these planes. “We are in a situation now where we can operate these planes, we can accept them, but they simply do not transfer them to us,” concluded the colonel.
