The head of the Unified Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces in Southern Ukraine, Natalia Humeniuk, stated this during a telethon broadcast.
“The markings found on the remains of those ‘Shahed’ drones after recent attacks were in Cyrillic, indicating that they are now of Russian production”, she said.
According to her information, the Russians currently launch the “Shahed” drones from the eastern coast of the Azov Sea in most cases on the southern front, but there have been instances when they were launched from the occupied Crimea.
Overall, the enemy uses several routes and attempts to utilize the terrain’s features to conceal their movements. The low pass over the Black Sea complicates the detection of the drones.
The use of riverbeds is also employed to hide their direction. It is worth noting that the U.S. intelligence believes that the construction of a factory for producing “Shahed” kamikaze drones in Russia could significantly impact the course of the war against Ukraine, as it would provide Russia with a new supply of drones.
