Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Malyar reported that.
“The enemy is trying to take control of Bakhmut with all its might by May 9th. To accomplish this task, they are deploying Wagner mercenaries from other fronts and replacing them with assault units of paratroopers who are currently fighting on the Bakhmut front”, stated Malyar.
She added that Ukrainian soldiers are preventing the enemy from breaking through the defense. In addition, Ukrainian artillery fire destroyed “Wagner” mercenaries’ ammunition storage areas.
On May 5th, “Putin’s chef” Yevgeny Prigozhin sharply criticized the Russian military leadership and announced that his mercenaries would leave Bakhmut on May 10th.
