Russian forces deliberately bombed the energy infrastructure of Kharkiv. The city is without water and electricity

This was reported by the Mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov.

“Municipal and energy workers need time to deal with the challenges posed by these enemy shelling”, said Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

“On the critical infrastructure of the city, we have deployed alternative power sources, as a result of which water is gradually beginning to appear in the homes of Kharkiv residents. In addition, 40 thousand subscribers in the city are provided with heat thanks to the operation of modular boiler houses”, he added.

To assist the residents of Kharkiv throughout the city, distribution points for free hot meals and “resilience points” have been opened, providing everything necessary for the comfortable stay of children and adults. As of 12:00 p.m. on March 22, 2917 people have used the resilience points.

The situation in the city remains difficult but under control. Municipal services are working on restoring electricity and water supply.

Consequences of the massive RF attack on Ukraine’s energy:

As a result of the combined massive RF attack on Ukraine’s energy, the country is receiving emergency assistance from 3 countries. UkrEnergo reports that dozens of energy system facilities have been damaged, and there are power outages in 7 regions. The most difficult situation has arisen in the Kharkiv, Odesa, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Restoration work is ongoing. Also, due to the shelling, the main power supply of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was disabled, and the power plant was connected via a backup line. Currently, Energoatom reports that power has been restored.
