Russians struck the Dnipro Hydroelectric Station twice, including the dam

This was reported by the director of Ukrhydroenergo, Ihor Syrota.

“Unfortunately, hits have been made on Ukraine’s largest hydroelectric power station – the DniproHES in Zaporizhzhia. The inhumans, not satisfied with destroying the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station, are now trying to create a new environmental disaster by cynically targeting the hydrostructures of the DniproHES and the dam”, he said.

It is noted that there is currently a fire at the station. Emergency services and energy workers are working on-site. According to official sources, there is no threat of a breakthrough. The situation at the station is under control.

Syrota reported that there were two direct hits on the DniproHES – at HES-1 and HES-2. According to him, it is unknown whether HES-2 can be restored; it has serious damage. There are also hits on one support and broken crane beams. Currently, both stations are not operational.

“The station is taking all measures to raise the gates and release water downstream along the Dnipro River”, said the director of Ukrhydroenergo.

It is worth noting that the Disinformation Resistance Center reported that Russia is preparing a series of information attacks following the mass shelling of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. They do this to sow panic among the population. The Center is already recording various fakes about the “destruction of the dam” and claims that “Ukraine will be left without electricity altogether”. Recall that early this morning, Russian missiles once again attacked numerous objects in Ukraine, including energy facilities.
