Russians used 59 missiles and drones against Ukraine. Only 26 of them were intercepted

This information is stated in the message from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In total, the occupiers launched 59 airborne targets:

• 8 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs from the area of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia);
• 7 guided anti-aircraft missiles S-300/S-400 from the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation;
• four air-launched ballistic missiles Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal” from four MiG-31K aircraft (launch area – Ryazan, Tambov);
• 24 cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55 from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers (launch areas – Engels);
• 8 X-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22M3 bombers from the Belgorod region;
• 6 Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the areas of Yankoy and Cape Chauda (Crimea);
• 2 guided aviation missiles X-31P from tactical aviation aircraft (launch area – Belgorod region).

The Russians targeted critical and civilian infrastructure, industrial, and military facilities in the Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

On January 8, over Zaporizhzhia, the enemy attacked with cruise and ballistic missiles, hitting residential areas – in open territory and near buildings. At least four people were injured.

The invaders carried out at least 4 missile strikes on Kharkiv, resulting in the destruction of a private house in the city of Zmiiiv, and a woman was injured. Medical assistance is being provided to two injured people, and two others are reportedly under the rubble.

In Kryvyi Rih, 15,000 subscribers are left without electricity. Part of public transport is not operating. There are hits near a local shopping center, or very close to it, which caught fire, with rescuers on site. A 58-year-old man received shrapnel wounds. He is in satisfactory condition.

The aftermath of the attack is being dealt with in the Lozuvatka community of the Kryvyi Rih district. There was also a “visit” there. A 62-year-old woman died, and a private house was destroyed.

The Air Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down 8 “Shahed” kamikaze drones over Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, after a missile attack, two people died. Air defense shot down two missiles. There are hits on infrastructure objects, and a fire is being localized.
