The maritime export of Ukrainian grain exceeds the indicators of the grain corridor involving Russia

This was reported by the Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov.

In the five months of the corridor’s operation, 469 new vessels entered Ukrainian ports for loading. Currently, 39 vessels are being loaded at the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi. Another 83 vessels have confirmed their readiness to enter the ports and export 2.4 million tons of cargo.

The effective capacity of the corridor was practically ensured by the Naval and Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the Security Service of Ukraine, systematically destroying and targeting Russian ships in the Black Sea.

Fresh data from the Center for Economic Strategies as of January 3 show that the maritime export of agricultural products through the Ukrainian corridor has exceeded the level of the “grain deal” era with Russia through the mediation of the UN and Turkey.

On July 17, 2023, Russia announced its withdrawal from the “grain deal.” On July 19, Russian forces attacked the port infrastructure of Odesa and the surrounding areas, targeting grain and oil terminals. After that, Russia systematically shelled Ukraine’s grain infrastructure. On August 10, Ukraine announced temporary maritime corridors for commercial vessels and then began attacking Russian ships.

Ukraine conducted a series of successful attacks with maritime drones, targeted the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, and ultimately forced Russia to withdraw its fleet.
