On September 1, the pilot project of the new educational course “Informatics NewG” will start in 50 schools of Ukraine. The course will help make computer science lessons interesting and understandable for children, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov reports in Telegram.
According to him, this is part of the IT education reform at the school level.
“Informatics will teach children to use the Internet for development and goals achievement. It will help to analyze, learn to distinguish between true and false information, find educational courses and work. And not just explain that a laptop is a laptop, and to switch on the computer, you need to press the button here,” the minister writes.
405 educational institutions wanted to join the pilot project. The Coordinating Council selected 50 that most met the requirements. Including:
14 institutions — from villages, towns, and urban-type settlements.
17 institutions — from cities.
13 institutions — from regional centers.
6 institutions — from Kyiv.
