This statement was made by the spokesperson of the Air Force, Yuriy Ignat, during a telethon broadcast.
“So, besides having the system, you need to have intelligence data, you need to understand where these systems are located to effectively destroy them”, said Ignat.
According to him, such information is available to the Defense Forces, and thanks to ATACMS, it would be possible to destroy Russian coastal missile complexes and ships in ports.
Ignat pointed out that the ATACMS complex is capable of primarily targeting ground targets. As a reminder, the United States is nearing a decision to transfer long-range tactical ATACMS missile systems to Ukraine. According to officials from Europe and the USA, this still needs to be approved “at the highest level”.
