71 deputies voted for the relevant decision, the Kyiv City Council reported.
According to city council member Lyudmila Kovalevska, it is necessary to protect the rights of displaced persons who suffered the most as a result of the Russian invasion.
“These are citizens who arrived in the capital from the areas where military operations were conducted, temporarily occupied territories, surrounded by occupiers or located on the front line between settlements and cities. It is necessary to provide effective mechanisms to help our fellow citizens get used to the new city and provide for their primary needs,” Kovalevska said.
IDPs can apply for financial assistance to the name of deputies of the Kyiv City Council. However, amount of financial assistance will be determined in each case separately.
In the application it is necessary to indicate the circumstances that justify the provision of assistance. Attach to it a copy of the ID or special status, a copy of the identification code and a copy of the certificate of registration as an internally displaced person.
