The natural object “Korovyache Lake” is planned to be declared as a landscape reserve of local importance

In Darnytsia district, the natural object “Korovyache Lake” is planned to be declared a landscape reserve of local importance.

“The designed landscape reserve covers the territory of the Korovyache Lake, that is located near the Bortnychi residential area. The territory of the natural object is the habitat of many types of birds, the black ferret, and the weasel, which are protected according to the annex to the resolution of the Berne Convention. The lake is also important in creation of a microclimate of the area, willow, birch, and black alder grow along the banks of the lake. The adoption of this decision will contribute to the improvement of the environment, ensure the effective functioning of the corridors of the capital’s ecosystem, and guarantee the preservation of valuable natural complexes and groups of rare plants and animals,” the Kyiv City Council said.
