This was announced by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko.
“According to information from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, today (September 4th) during the night, Russian ‘Shahed’ drones fell and detonated on Romanian territory amid Russia’s mass attack in the Izmail port area”, he said.
Nikolenko published a photo of the explosion and emphasized that this is another confirmation that Russian missile terror poses a significant threat not only to Ukraine’s security but also to the security of neighboring countries, particularly NATO member states.
He called on partners to expedite the provision of Ukraine with additional modern missile defense and air defense systems, as well as combat aircraft, to enhance the protection of Ukraine’s infrastructure and neighboring states.
At the same time, the Romanian Ministry of Defense “categorically denied” the information from the Ukrainian side that Russian strike drones fell and exploded on Romanian territory. The ministry emphasized that it considers these Russian attacks unjustified and in violation of international humanitarian law.
It is worth noting that in the early hours of September 4th, Russian occupiers attacked the Odesa region with Shahed combat drones, and Ukrainian air defense forces downed 17 of them. There were impacts in two territorial communities.
