The Ukrainian Parliament has officially recognized the state ideology of Russia as ruzism

The announcement was made by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko from the European Solidarity party.

The Rada’s statement calls on the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and foreign governments and parliaments to support the condemnation of the ideology, policies, and practices of racism.

Honcharenko emphasized the importance of the decision, stating that “we must call things by their proper names”.

Ruzism or Russian fascism is a term used to describe the political ideology and social practices of the Russian government’s authoritarian regime from the late 20th to the early 21st century. It is based on the ideas of the “special civilizational mission” of Russians, the “seniority of the fraternal people”, intolerance of the cultures of other nations, mainly Slavic ones, because they are easier to Russify, as well as of the nations that lived in the Russian Empire or the USSR, ultranationalism, the use of Russian Orthodoxy as a moral doctrine, geopolitical tools of influence, primarily energy carriers for European countries, military force against countries in Russia’s sphere of influence.

On April 14, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized Russia as a terrorist state with a totalitarian neo-Nazi regime and banned its propaganda, as well as the propaganda of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. Ruzism is a form of Nazism, fascism, and a synonym for the term “Russian Nazism”. Some experts refer to this phenomenon as “schizophrenic fascism” since calling others fascists while being a fascist is the main method of Putinism’s rhetoric. Russian schizophrenic fascism is a caricature of fascism or fascism under the guise of fighting fascism.
