The water level in the flooded part of the Kherson region is decreasing

This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

“As of this hour, the water continues to recede and has reached a mark of 3.29 meters. Compared to yesterday evening, the level has decreased by 64 centimeters”, said Prokudin.

According to him, the situation with flooding in populated areas remains unchanged.

“There are still 46 cities, towns, and villages submerged in water, with 32 on the right bank and 14 on the left. In the liberated territory, 3,701 houses have been flooded”, the head of the RMA reported.

“Despite the intense fire from Russian terrorists, the rescue operation continues on the right bank. We have managed to evacuate 2,743 people from the water trap, including 228 children and 77 mobility-impaired individuals. Only from Kherson, 2,318 residents have been evacuated”, Prokudin noted.

“The situation remains critical on the left bank, where the Russians are blocking evacuation and not conducting it themselves. Moreover, they hinder our rescue efforts by firing at elderly and mobility-impaired residents of the region from behind. However, the rescue operation by our forces continues on the left bank as well. We have already pulled out 112 people from there”, the head of the RMA stated.

The decrease in the water level was also confirmed on “KYIV24” by the spokesperson of the Kherson RMA, Oleksandr Tolokonnіkov.

“The current water level is 3.3 meters. So, more than 60 centimeters of water has receded since yesterday evening. We will see which populated areas are completely free from water. Yesterday, 32 settlements were flooded. 1,800 houses were flooded, and 2,722 people were evacuated, including 180 children. Yesterday’s incident with the attack on the evacuees was a horrific event. The Russians once again demonstrated their attitude towards the people of Kherson; they consider them worthless”, he reported.

Earlier, it was reported that the water level on the flooded right bank of the Kherson region continues to fall. The Kakhovka reservoir has decreased in volume. However, the situation remains complicated on the left bank of the Kherson region. The rate of water recession has slowed down in the occupied territories. At the same time, the Russians have completely failed the evacuation of civilians.
