Ukrainian biometric passports on the background of the Ukrainian blue-yellow flag.
This was reported by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleh Nikolenko, during a telethon broadcast.
According to him, over the course of three days, the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was created to assist Ukrainians in Israel, processed over 700 requests from citizens.
In the past day, diplomats located seven Ukrainians in the south of Israel who were previously considered missing. They are now safe.
“Regarding Ukrainian citizens who have died or been injured, we have confirmed information about two Ukrainian women. The situation has not changed. We have information about the possible death of three more Ukrainians: two on the territory of Israel and one in the Gaza Strip. However, this information is not currently confirmed”, he said.
Nikolenko also mentioned that around 300 Ukrainians have reached out to the operational headquarters due to the inability to leave Israel due to flight cancellations.
In addition, 150 Ukrainians in the Gaza Strip have expressed their desire to leave the enclave. Meanwhile, the operational headquarters and other relevant Ukrainian agencies are exploring alternative ways to assist our citizens in leaving the country. All options are currently being worked on.
Nikolenko noted that diplomats have already established contacts with Ukrainians who have reached out to the embassy. Once there is more information, they will receive the appropriate instructions.
It’s worth mentioning that on October 9, the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine managed to evacuate a Ukrainian boy who was injured during a terrorist attack. He is receiving medical treatment, psychological support, and preparations are underway for his return to Ukraine to be reunited with his family.
