Ukraine, Finland agree to exchange nuclear safety information

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate.

“The document provides that the parties will exchange technical information and cooperate in the field of nuclear and radiation safety in accordance with the legislation of the two countries,” the report states.

In particular, Ukraine and Finland will cooperate in terms of nuclear safety, environmental radiation monitoring, emergency preparedness and response, radioactive waste management, etc.

According to the Ukrainian State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, the data received by any party to the memorandum cannot be transferred to third parties except as authorized in writing. Confidential information will not be exchanged.

The memorandum will be valid for five years with the possibility of extension for the following five-year periods.
