This was reported by the Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram.
“We managed to conduct another large-scale exchange of prisoners. We are bringing 100 of our people back home – these are military personnel, sailors, border guards, and National Guard soldiers”, he stated.
According to Yermak, among the freed fighters are defenders of Mariupol, Azovstal, and Hostomel.
“Some people have serious injuries and illnesses. We will do everything necessary to ensure that each of them receives all the necessary assistance”, the Head of the Office of the President emphasized.
Yermak noted that “this was a difficult exchange”.
He expressed gratitude to the entire team that worked on it and to the Coordination Center for the release of prisoners of war in particular. The Coordination Center clarified that 80 male and 20 female defenders were released from captivity, including nine officers and the rest being privates and sergeants. This time, it was possible to release 24 National Guard soldiers, 22 border guards, 22 representatives of the Navy, 21 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and 11 members of territorial defense. The youngest of those released is 19 years old, and some have been subjected to torture.
