According to Defense Express, the production of strategic-operational kamikaze drones named “Rubaka” has commenced in Ukraine.
These drones resemble an analogue of the Shahed-136 but have one specific structural feature.
However, there is currently no publicly available information about the manufacturer of these drones and the production rate.
The indications suggest that the “Rubaka” kamikaze drones are planned to be used by the intelligence units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The cost of one unit is approximately $15,000, and it is claimed to have a flight range of up to 500 km. Estimates regarding the warhead’s weight vary from 2-5 kg to 15 kg, according to different sources.
Additionally, this is currently the only kamikaze drone in the world where the propeller is installed in the front, rather than the tail of the fuselage. This decision might be related to the characteristics of the engine used for small aircraft, which is evidently employed in this kamikaze drone.
Moreover, the drone lacks an optoelectronic station, which suggests that this aircraft is intended for strikes on pre-known coordinates and utilizes an inertial guidance system.
As a reminder, Ukraine is testing new kamikaze drones equipped with artificial intelligence, enabling them to strike targets even if communication with the operator is lost.
