“Ukraine received a EUR 100 million loan on preferential terms from the French Development Agency. The funds are directed to the general fund of the State Budget to finance priority expenses, in particular social and humanitarian,” the statement reads.
The loan is provided on preferential terms: the interest rate is 1.04% per annum, while the final repayment shall come 15 years from the date of the loan agreement (taking into account the grace period for deferring repayment of the loan for a period of more than 5 years from the date of the conclusion of the deal).
“We highly appreciate France’s contribution to maintaining the stability of Ukraine’s financial system, as well as its willingness to support our state in the fight against the aggressor. Financial assistance to Ukraine today is an investment in a peaceful future on the European continent,” emphasized the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko.
The total amount of direct budget support from France since February 24, 2022 has reached S432 million.
As reported, on November 28, Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko and Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of France Bruno Le Maire signed an Agreement on providing Ukraine with a loan of up to EUR 100 million from the French Development Agency.
