According to the respective decrees 57 and 61 on the President’s website, “For outstanding personal merits in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: to award the title of Hero of Ukraine with the presentation of the Order of the Golden Star to Valeriy Zaluzhny – General”.
“…For personal courage and heroism demonstrated in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, I decree: to award the title of Hero of Ukraine with the presentation of the Order of the Golden Star to Kirill Budanov – Lieutenant General”, reads Zelensky’s decree.
Recall that on February 8, Zelensky dismissed Zaluzhny from the post of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and appointed General Oleksandr Syrsky to this position.
