This was reported by the authors of the mural.
As we wrote earlier, artists Yana Vlasenko-Bernatska and Yuliya Abramova started work on creating a mural on June 28, on the Constitution Day of Ukraine. Then they planned to create a 25-meter mural. But in the process of creation, they were inspired to create almost three times larger, and now their work claims a place in the record book.
The basis of the mural was Yulia Abramova’s illustrations for the play “The Flying Cranes”.
“The crane is one of the symbols of Ukraine and love for the Motherland. And we, Ukrainians, are all a big family of our Motherland. Family to family – that’s what a people is, that’s what our Ukraine is. Until old age, a person is connected to the family from which he came, and throughout his life he is connected to the country where he was born and grew up,”- the authors explained.
Volunteers, residents of the district, adults and children, and anyone who knows how to hold a brush and wants to take a part in the process of creating this symbolic art object – were also involved in the creation of the mural.
In the end, the painters repainted the structures behind the mural, which were painted with graffiti. Other workers laid new paths along the road, artists finished 3D painting on the steps and are now preparing to set a record – the longest patriotic mural.
