According to a report from the State Cinema of Ukraine, the film “Pamfir” has already earned UAH 6,673,208 at the box office after its second weekend of release. The screenings were attended by a total of 44,912 viewers.
The film’s events take place in the western regions of Ukraine on the eve of the traditional Malanka carnival. Pamfir returns home after a long absence to reunite with his family. However, their unconditional love backfires and forces him down a risky path with irreversible consequences.
The director and author of the film’s script is Dmytro Suholytkyi-Sobchuk.
It is also worth noting that the production of the film was supported by several organizations, including the State Film Agency of Ukraine, the Polish Film Institute (PISF), the French National Cinema Center CNC (Aide aux cínemas du monde), the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration, and international funds Visions Sud Est, Hubert Bals Fund, and Goteborg Film Fund.
