Around 100,000 Russian occupiers have been eliminated near Bakhmut

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Eastern grouping, Colonel Serhiy Cherevatyi.

Cherevatyi said that on average, the enemy uses about 25,000 shells per day on the Luhansk and Bakhmut fronts, which means that the Russians are not experiencing a shortage of ammunition.

“The statements of the head of the PMC Wagner regarding ammunition are probably related to the fact that he took on too many promises regarding the capture of Bakhmut and invents these nonsense stories about a shortage of shells, because besides the loss of personnel, there is no victory behind him. Moreover, neither the military leadership of the Russian Federation nor the Russian prisoners want to replenish the ranks of this organization anymore, as they understand that this is a one-way ticket”, he added.

In addition, Serhiy Cherevatyi noted that the enemy has lost about 100,000 personnel on the Bakhmut front over the past 9 months.

“But this is an approximate estimate. I am sure that further verification will only lead to an increase in this figure. This is natural because the enemy uses so-called “meat attacks” of personnel as the main method of waging war”, he added.

It should be reminded that earlier, the commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the Russians are still trying to capture Bakhmut by May 9. He emphasized that the aggressors will not succeed because the Ukrainian soldiers effectively resist their attempts to advance.

Moreover, as reported by the experts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the statements of Prigozhin about the withdrawal of “Wagnerites” from Bakhmut and the westward move towards the city of “Kadyrovites” likely forced the chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, to resume the supply of artillery ammunition to Wagner PMC mercenaries.
