At the border with Poland, Ukrainian trucks are once again being blocked

Andriy Demchenko, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Border Service, provided information on which crossing point allows the fewest trucks to cross per day in an interview with KYIV24.

The point of entry “Shehyni” had the highest number of trucks, with 800 waiting to enter Ukraine. The entry points “Yahodyn-Dorohusk,” “Krakovets-Korchova,” and “Rava-Ruska-Khrebenne” had 400, 200, and 400 trucks, respectively, waiting to cross into Ukraine on the morning of January 4.

Previously, the “Yahodyn” checkpoint was one of the most infrastructurally advanced facilities, requalified for maximum truck passage. Previously, 1,200-1,400 trucks crossed the border there daily. However, it currently has the lowest number of trucks passing through, with only 70 per day, 100, 130… This is ten times less than before the blockade.

Andriy Demchenko, the spokesperson for the Ukrainian Border Service, announced that the blockade actions resumed today. They indicated they would allow the passage of three trucks per hour. More details will be provided later when they analyze the cargo arriving in Ukraine from Poland and the quantity Poland is allowing through, as well as the categories of goods being permitted.

The organizers of the blockade in Poland, the recently created “Committee for the Protection of Carriers and Employers in the Transport Industry,” claim that the action is economic and not political. But that is not true. However, their actions have not found support among the authorities and other organizations of carriers. Nevertheless, the protest is being actively supported by the consistent anti-Ukrainian and anti-European party “Konfederacja,” whose representatives are the most vocal in expressing anti-Ukrainian statements, fighting against Ukrainian refugees in the media, and already billing for assistance to Ukraine and its citizens.
