Germany will provide Ukraine with €500 million in military aid

This was reported by Tagesschau.

The aid package will include:

  • 10,000 artillery ammunition from Bundeswehr stocks;
  • 100 units of armored vehicles;
  • 100 units of transport vehicles.

In addition, the package will include 180,000 artillery shells, which are part of the Czech initiative to purchase 800,000 ammunition for Ukraine. Deliveries of shells are planned to begin this summer. Overall, throughout 2024, Germany plans to supply Ukraine with over 350,000 artillery shells.

It is worth noting that on March 19, the 20th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues of Ukraine began in Germany at the US base “Ramstein”.

The priority issues at this meeting are providing Ukraine with:

  • Air defense systems;
  • Long-range missiles;
  • Artillery ammunition;
  • Modern EW and radar systems;
  • Armored vehicles.

The previous package of military aid from Germany was announced on February 26. It included, among other things, artillery shells, drones, and mine-clearing vehicles.
