This was reported on the official Facebook page of the theater.
On the eve of the opening, a meeting of the theater team was held. The actors congratulated each other on the start of work and shared plans for the future, but these days it sounded a little different.
“Many of our colleagues were not around, because they are fighting: on the fronts, in volunteer headquarters, they support our armed forces with words, songs – as much as they can. We bow low to everyone who has the strength, power and courage to defend our country on all fronts. We will take care of our theater and our audience,” the message reads.
The new season opened with the play Morituri te salutant based on Vasyl Stefanyk’s short stories.
After the performance, the actors noted that the theater is possible today thanks to the Armed Forces.
The next performance will be “Caligula”, which will be held on Tuesday, August 16. Next is “Stolen Happiness” by Ivan Franko, which will take place on August 23.
It should be noted that during the war, the Ivan Franko Theater was temporarily “hosted” by the Lesya Ukrainka Theater.
