The investigation against former MP Derkach, who tried to compromise Biden, has been completed in Ukraine

The NABU and SAP qualify his actions under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 1 of Article 111, as well as Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation revealed that the former MP received at least $567,000 from Russian law enforcement and intelligence agencies between 2019 and 2022 for subversive activities against Ukraine.

It was found that he carried out various actions, including in the public sphere, aimed at discrediting Ukraine’s image on the international arena, worsening diplomatic relations between the United States and Ukraine, and complicating Ukraine’s integration into the European Union and NATO.

Since Derkach is evading investigation, a special pre-trial investigation is being conducted against him. Previously, the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reported that they exposed a network of the Russian GRU in which Derkach was involved. Andrii Derkach is a 54-year-old Ukrainian politician who served as a member of the Ukrainian Parliament during the III-IX convocations. He is the son of former SSU Chairman Leonid Derkach (1998-2001) and has been included in the US personal sanctions list with the designation “Russian agent with more than ten years of experience”.

In 2019, before the US presidential elections, he claimed to possess documents about pressuring the then-prosecutor general, Viktor Shokin, in the context of the investigation involving the company “Burisma.” Derkach said that there were plans to interrogate the members of “Burisma’s” board, including Hunter Biden, the son of the former US Vice President.
