The Government will prepare draft laws on the introduction of an exam for acquiring Ukrainian citizenship.
The Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this.
According to PM, the President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has been instructed to consider this issue.
The Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will prepare and submit relevant draft laws to the government. The Ministry of Education and Science together with the National Commission for the State Language Standards were instructed to develop and approve the examination program for the level of the state language, as well as for the history of Ukraine and the Constitution knowledge.
In response to the petition, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky instructed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to comprehensively work out the issue of introducing a mandatory exam for acquiring Ukrainian citizenship.
