Germany will allocate an additional 2.4 billion euros for social benefits for Ukrainian refugees in the country.

This was reported by the German Minister of Labor, Hubertus Heil, quoted by Reuters.

Germany’s Labor Office last month reported a rise of unemployed figures as Ukrainian refugees registered with the office in search of work. Currently, about 360,000 Ukrainians have registered in the German welfare system, of which 260,000 are looking for job.

Heil said that about 800,000 people from Ukraine have already found asylum in Germany so far, of which 30% are under 14 years old.
