The training was conducted by a team of specialists of the State Emergency Service and the National Police of Ukraine.

Mine safety training was held for 150 children and adults in the Desnyanskiy district. This was reported by the website of the Kyiv City Council with reference to deputy Hanna Starostenko.

The training took place with the support of ‘Solomyanski kotiki’ charity foundation. They were conducted by specialists of the State Emergency Service and the National Police of Ukraine.

Two separate tents were set up along Shukhevych Avenue in Troeshchyna: the first one for the younger children, where they drew and playfully learned about explosive objects, and the second one for older children and their parents, where a National Police officer showed mock mines and explained how to act in a case of their detection.

The experts also prepared tools for pyrotechnicians, means of detection and protection against explosions. All those willing were able to try on a sapper’s suit, body armor, and took a part in the search for objects by mine detectors accompanied by a shepherd service dog.

The Kyiv City Council plans to regularly conduct such training for residents in order to increase their level of safety.
