It will be called the National Academic Drama Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka.
This is evidenced by the resolution No. 804 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated by July 15, 2022.
In the list of cultural and art institutions that receive funding from the state budget, the position Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Theater of Russian Drama was replaced by the position Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater.
The renaming of the theater was initiated by the Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko. The idea was supported by the theater director Mykhailo Reznikovich.
