Rescuer Volodymyr Skovorodka will finish on August 24 in Warsaw.

The State Emergency Service reported this.

On August 11, the “Ultramarathon of Gratitude” project started on Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv. Within the scope of the project, rescuer Volodymyr Skovorodka of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine will run 800 kilometers from Kyiv to the capital of Poland in 14 days.

Ukrainians can join the run online and express their gratitude to the Polish people for their support during the war and raise UAH 2 million for the buying of modern equipment for the special emergency rescue unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv. The project was organized by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the “Ukrainian Firefighters” charity foundation.

“As part of the ultramarathon, I will run about 60 kilometers every day. This is one of the largest and most ambitious projects in which I had to participate. Sometimes the route is difficult. But it is now much more difficult for my fellow rescuers, who are fighting for the lives of Ukrainians in inhumane conditions. For their sake, as well as for our Polish friends who selflessly helped Ukrainians during the war, we must run the “Ultramarathon of Gratitude” and together set an absolute record for Ukraine,” Volodymyr Skovorodka, the hero of the “Ultramarathon of Gratitude” project said.

Everyone can join the charity run project online. To do this, you need to choose a section of the route from 1 km on the ultramarathonforall.org website and make a charitable contribution of 50 hryvnias. The raised funds will be used to purchase modern equipment for diving and rescue work, which is performed by the special emergency and rescue squad of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv.

There is also an opportunity to express gratitude to the Polish people on the project website. The message will be printed on the marathoner’s starting number and published on the project’s website.

Volodymyr Skovorodka will finish in Warsaw on August 24, on the Independence Day of Ukraine.
