"Water gardens" are urban ponds in ceramic bowls.
This is reported in the UC “Pleso”.
“Why is this? First, it’s beautiful. Water creates the microclimate and cooling in cities. Therefore, this type of ecosystem increases humidity and biodiversity,” Pleso explains.
Two pilot ponds with plants that form independent ecosystems have been created, but this is “only the start of research into the design of the urban microclimate and blue-green Kyiv infrastructure.”
“Water gardens” were popular on the streets of Warsaw in the 1960s and 1970s.
