Due to the dangerous dust, residents of the capital were urged to limit their time outside, close the windows at home, drink plenty of water, and turn on the air purifiers as much as possible if available.

This is reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.

According to the report, as of 3:00 p.m., the air was approaching the maximum allowable concentration of suspended particles – dust. The source of dust formation is outside the territory of Kyiv. The increase in concentration occurs due to the movement of air masses of dust from the southeast direction.

On the left bank, the content of suspended particles is 392 micrograms per cubic meter on the right – 339 micrograms per cubic meter (the maximum permissible concentration is 500 micrograms per cubic meter). Exceeding the MPC of the remaining pollutants monitored (nitrogen oxide and dioxide, sulfur oxide, ozone, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide) was not detected. The radiation background is within normal limits.

To improve the situation with the air quality, it is recommended:

  • close the windows at home;
  • do not go outside;
  • drink a lot of water;
  • if there is an air purifier, turn it on to the maximum.
