The Pushcha-Vodytsya tram is iconic and a symbol of Kyiv.
The over 100-year-old historical route survived two world wars, and each time, the city restored it.
As a reminder, during the Russian occupiers’ attack on Kyiv, sections of the track in Pushcha-Vodytsya were damaged by enemy fire. Mortars hit the tramway on Lines 1 and 9. At the end of Tram Route No. 12, which is on Line 14, a shell from a Russian Grad rocket damaged the track and destroyed the tram substation.
Specialists were able to start restoring the area only after sappers worked in the area. All unexploded mines and ammunition are deadly!
So far, rescuers have made about 30 trips to Pushcha-Vodytsya. And demining work is still ongoing.
Work is also underway to clear explosives in some green areas of the capital. That’s why the city asks people not to approach defense fortifications or their remnants in many parks and squares.
