The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs answered the President of Brazil regarding his proposal to give Crimea to Russia in order to end the war.

According to the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Nikolenko, Ukraine values the efforts of the President of Brazil in search of a solution to stop Russian aggression.

“At the same time, we must clearly state: Ukraine does not trade its territories”, he said.

Nikolenko emphasized that there is no legal, political, or moral reason why Ukraine should give up even a centimeter of its land.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reiterated Ukraine’s position that any mediation efforts to restore peace in Ukraine must be based on respect for sovereignty and the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter.

Earlier, the President of Brazil suggested that Ukraine should give up Crimea to Russia to end the war, saying that Volodymyr Zelensky “cannot want everything.”
