The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will independently make a decision on a counteroffensive. This will be done at the last moment.
This was announced by the Secretary of National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, according to Tagesschau.
Danilov commented on the “leak” of secret Pentagon documents and media reports that Ukraine had to change some military plans after this.
“Security services should be more vigilant when it comes to secret documents”, he said.
At the same time, the Secretary of the NSDC emphasized that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and his staff will make a decision on a counteroffensive “at the last moment.”
“If someone thinks that we have only one option, that’s not true. Even three options are not enough”, Danilov emphasized.
On April 7, allegedly classified military documents detailing the plans of the United States and NATO to build up the Ukrainian army ahead of a planned counteroffensive appeared on Twitter and Telegram. The Office of the President of Ukraine called them a fake.
