The defense forces will not announce the start of a counteroffensive, as certain actions are already underway.
This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar, during a telethon broadcast.
“There will not be a day when the Armed Forces will say, ‘Tomorrow we start a counteroffensive.’ This is impossible in the conditions of war, because it is classified information. These are plans of the Armed Forces that we do not have the right to discuss in the public domain, and even the military themselves do not discuss them”, she explained.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that certain counteroffensive actions are already taking place. Overall, the focus is on the strategic goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the state to liberate all of Ukrainian territories.
“It is clear that we are aimed precisely at stopping the enemy’s offensive actions. Therefore, talking narrowly about a counteroffensive is incorrect. Because this is a huge complex of different actions and measures that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently undertaking. First of all, preparing people for a complex of actions. And both defensive and offensive, but all together can be called counteroffensive measures”, Maliar added.
She also stressed that the higher military leadership has several plans, from which they will choose taking into account the situation.
