Ukrainian air defense systems shot down most of the drones that attacked the cities.
This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, and the Operational Command “South”.
According to Serhiy Popko, there has not been such an intensity of attacks since the beginning of the year. This is already the third air attack on the capital in four days of May. The aggressor used cluster munitions like “Shahed” and possibly ballistic missiles. According to the latest data, there were no casualties or damage among civilians, although there were falling debris in some parts of the capital.
The Operational Command “South” reported that the air defense forces shot down 12 out of 15 “Shahed-131/136” drones that attacked Odesa. At the same time, three hostile drones hit dormitories of one of the educational institutions in Odesa, but the fire was quickly extinguished, and no one was injured. Earlier, a series of alarm signals were declared in several regions of Ukraine, including Odesa, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions.
