Three Ukrainian journalists have been awarded the Pulitzer Prize for their reporting on Marupol

Ukrainian journalists have become laureates of the Pulitzer Prize for a series of photographs dedicated to the occupied city of Mariupol.

The Ukrainian Associated Press employees Mstyslav Chernov, Yevgeny Maloletka, Vasilisa Stepanenko, and Lori Hinnant received the Pulitzer Prize for “brave reporting on embattled Marupol that provided evidence of the killing of peaceful civilians during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine”.

Note: The Pulitzer Prize is one of the most prestigious awards in the United States in the fields of literature, journalism, music, and theater. It was founded in honor of publisher Joseph Pulitzer in 1917, who donated two million dollars to create the prize before his death. He left the money to Columbia University after his death.
