The Security Service of Ukraine has completed a pre-trial investigation into an additional 59 members of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and has sent indictments to court.
This is reported in the statement of the agency.
According to the investigation, on February 15, 2022, the suspects voted for a resolution urging Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the “independence” of the temporarily occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Based on the deputies’ appeal, the Kremlin leader signed corresponding decrees on February 21.
The next day, Russian deputies supported the ratification of the “Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance” between Russia and the terrorist organizations “L/DNR.” Subsequently, the leaders of the pseudo-republics “officially” appealed to the Russian President for military assistance in repelling their allegedly “aggressive” actions. Thus, on February 24, 2022, Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine.
Through their actions, Russian deputies contributed to the implementation of the Kremlin’s plan to attempt to seize Ukraine. The suspects have been charged with violating Part 3 of Article 110 (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Among the accused are Rahim Azimov, Nikolay Yezyersky, Gennadiy Zyuganov, Nikolay Ivanov, Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, Vladimir Isakov, Sergey Kazankov, Mikhail Kiselyov, Mikhail Kislakov, Lev Kovpak, Aleksandr Kogan, Alfiya Kogoginova, Aleksandr Kozlovsky, Andrey Kolesnyk, Oleg Kolesnykov, Serhgey Kolunov, Vladimir Kononov, Olga Korobova, Natalia Kostenko, Sergey Kotkin, Denis Kravchenko, Anton Krasnoshtanov, Andrey Krasov, Pavel Krasheninnikov, Sergey Kryvonosov, and Anna Kuznetsova.
Among the accused are also Aleksey Sitnikov, Aleksandr Skachkov, Gennadiy Sklyar, Valeriy Skryg, Viktor Smirnov, Viktor Sobolev, Sergey Sokol, Sergey Solovyov, Ivan Solodovnikov, Aleksandr Spiridonov, Yuriy Stankevich, Mykhail Starshynov, Katerina Stenyakina, Aleksandr Strel’yukhin, and Renat Suleymanov.
In addition to them, the list of accused includes Arthur Taymazov, Mykhail Tarasenko, Muslim Tatryev, Sergey Ten, Mykhail Terentyev, Andrey Trifonov, Artem Turov, Larisa Tutova, Rymma Utyasheva, Oksana Fadina, Biiyusultan Khamzaev, Katerina Kharchenko, Murat Hasanov, Aleksandr Khinshteyn, Gleb Khor, Dmitriy Khubezov, Nikolay Tsed, and Elena Tsunaieva. Comprehensive measures are being taken to hold the guilty parties accountable.
As reported by Ukrinform, in April, the SBU sent indictments to court against 56 deputies of the Russian State Duma who aided the seizure of parts of eastern regions of Ukraine. In addition, the SBU has accused 170 Russian senators who supported the so-called “annexation” of the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.
