The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate stated that in order to displace the occupiers from our territory, more weapons are needed, including Western fighters.
Ukraine has the minimum necessary armaments to initiate a counteroffensive. This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with the Japanese TV channel NHK.
“Many civilians are still under Russian occupation, and we cannot afford to waste any more time. We already have the minimum necessary armaments. I can only say that this (counteroffensive) will start soon”, Budanov said.
At the same time, he emphasized that more weapons, including fighters, are needed to liberate our territory from the occupiers.
“We must drive Russia out of our territory. We must use all our forces and resources to achieve this goal. We need large stocks of weapons and ammunition for the successful continuation of the operation”, Budanov stressed.
As we reported, the EU has provided Ukraine with 220,000 artillery shells since the beginning of the year. In total, Ukraine has received 600 types of Western armaments.
