On the night of May 25, Russia launched 36 Shahed kamikaze drones against Ukraine. All UAVs were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces.
This information is reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“On the night of May 25, 2023, the enemy attacked Ukraine with strike drones of Iranian production, the ‘Shahed-136/131’ model. In total, 36 barrage munitions launches were recorded from the northern and southern directions”, the statement said.
It is noted that the enemy presumably aimed to attack critical infrastructure and military objects in the western regions of the country.
To repel the attack, units of anti-aircraft missile forces, strike aviation, mobile fire groups in the zones of responsibility of the Southern Air Command, Central Air Command, and Western Air Command, as well as air defense of other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, were involved, according to the Air Force press service.
“All 36 Shaheds were destroyed through joint efforts!”, emphasized the Air Force.
